The Happy document interviews nine different individuals, and shows us what brings them happiness. Two out of the nine people that I felt the closest two were, Minoj Singh and Roy Blanchard. These two men and I share one thing in common, our family brings us happiness. Minoj lives in Kolkata, India and works as a rickshaw driver. He lives in a house made out of bamboo sticks and plastic that covers it, although he is poor he still thinks he is the richest person in the world because of his family. Minoj tries to find the positive out of everything. An example when he does this is with his house having an absent wall, says its good for letting the wind inside and lets you see the moon at night. I connected with Minoj because as long as we have family we don’t need much else. As I’ve gotten older, I learned materialistic things don’t matter, therefore I don’t ask for anything for my birthday or Christmas. All I wish for is for my family to be safe and healthy. My parents have always taught me to find the positive out of everything. They told me if you find the positive out of a tough situation your mood changes a little and you get to think a little clearer. Roy is a man who spends at least one day with his family. He lives in Louisiana and enjoys catching crabs. I too believe that being with family and the people you love brings you the most happiness. The reason why I related with Roy is because my family is very close. We use any opportunity to get together, whether that be for a birthday, superbowl or just because it is Sunday. Roy said something in the film that I think is very true, it is okay if you don’t like every single one of your family members; because at the end of the day they are still family.
